I'm really surprised by the lack of support for it. Tangent's really the only company that makes cross-program color panels in 2022. Yeah, Avid's Artist panels worked on different programs outside of Avid and Pro Tools, but they've since discontinued the whole line. There's not really a precedent for this - BMD's panels have always been locked to Resolve, similar to how Digital Vision and Filmlight color panels are essentially locked to Nucoda and Baselight respectively. The Speed Editor is specialty hardware designed for a specific part of a specific program, and to date, BMD hasn't had super customizable panels. I wouldn't be surprised if BMD just doesn't have the team or infrastructure to support the panels much more than, say, firmware updates or replacement parts. Heck, the Micro and Mini panels are also new in the last 5 years. It's only been in the last 5+ years or so that BMD's added more editing features, acquired Fusion and Fairlight, and developed the editing keyboards and Fairlight consoles. Resolve's (historically) been a pretty niche program designed exclusively for color correction. I'm prepared for these to be unpopular opinions (or theories): there might not be enough of a support team for it to be worth it from a business perspective, and there's no precedent.
